Balance Time is a portrait of two retired priests. Hubert de Palma and Gérard Laflamme live in an old-age home in Montreal and spend their time in a rocking chair on the banks of the Saint Lawrence River.
The sound of church bells bears reference to the men’s lifes and draws the attention towards the video down below the exhibition wall. The sound scape follows a pending pattern. The changing rhythm of the church bells works as a guide revealing the actual slowness of movement by the two priests.
